The Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast (EDC) is pleased to announce that Astro Pak Corporation has selected Titusville, Florida, as the new location for the company’s expanding field operations. Based in California, Astro Pak Corporation is the North American leader in precision cleaning, passivation and related specialties. The company will focus on providing the highest level of technical services to a variety of sectors including aerospace, biotechnology and pharmaceutical, food and beverage, as well as others that produce industrial and high purity products.
Astro Pak Corporation has acquired, and plans to refurbish, a 44,000 square-foot industrial building on Grissom Parkway in Titusville, following the company’s tradition of continuous investment in its facilities nationwide. This refurbishment will insure that operations will offer the most modern, advanced, and world class resources to the industries served, and will include the creation of its Space Coast cleanroom.
Along with Astro Pak Corporation’s investment in the Titusville facility, the company is also investing in the Space Coast’s existing industry with its purchase of the assets of Chemko Technical Services. Astro Pak plans to retain jobs from the existing Chemko operation, and create an additional 17 new positions, as it moves to broaden the field of services offered.
“Thanks to the work of the EDC, the North Brevard Economic Development Zone (NBEDZ), and the City of Titusville, we will again see an exciting addition to the North Brevard business climate,” stated Lynda Weatherman, president and CEO of the EDC. “With its expanded field operations, Astro Pak will not only retain existing jobs, but create additional employment opportunities, further strengthening the Space Coast’s high-tech industry base.”
“The NBEDZ is pleased to induce Astro Pak’s decision to acquire the building on Grissom Parkway, not only because of the new employment the project will generate, but also because of the new market directions the company plans to pursue, which should increase the area’s economic diversification,” said Troy Post, executive director of the NBEDZ.
“Over the years Chemko has established a solid business with great employees and loyal customers,” noted Ken Verheyen, CEO of Astro Pak. “Astro Pak is excited to help expand upon the existing legacy by building these new large, ultra-modern class 6 and class 7 cleanrooms. It will be exciting to support the Space Coast with a state-of-the-art facility for cleaning space and ground support hardware, as well as create a location from which we can deploy regionally to perform on-site cleaning at our customer’s facilities throughout the southeastern US.”
