Linde North America will break ground on August 22 for construction of a new air separation plant in Lewisville, Arkansas. The 470 ton-per-day plant will produce liquid nitrogen and oxygen to meet rapidly growing demand in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas.
Members of the media, as well as state and local officials, and customers are invited to the event which will begin at 3:30 pm. The Linde plant site is located at 2244 on Highway 82 in Lewisville.
Pat Murphy, president of Linde North America, said, "The Lewisville plant will give us the size and operating efficiencies we need to support our customers, who have seen great expansion in their own businesses and who are poised for even more growth in the future."
Linde North America is a member of The Linde Group, a world leading gases and engineering company.
"When completed, the plant will bring product closer to our customers so we can improve their supply security and reduce Linde's carbon footprint. Developing environmental solutions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions is part of Linde's commitment to sustainability," Murphy said.
The plant, which will employ 24 people, is expected to begin operating by the fourth quarter of 2013. The liquid nitrogen and oxygen produced at the plant will be delivered by tanker truck to customers ranging from manufacturers of chemical products to food processors, metal fabricators, independent gases and welding distributors, and healthcare providers.
By using the latest design technology from Linde's Engineering Division, the plant will use the least amount of electricity possible in order to produce the gases. Linde also will require less fuel for its delivery trucks, since the plant will be located closer to customers.
