Empire State Development (ESD) announced that Concentrix Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fortune 500’s SYNNEX Corporation, will add 350 new jobs over the next two years in the Rochester suburb of Pittsford. The company will invest $1.75 million for machinery, facility improvements and additional work stations at its call center in Monroe County, which currently employs 211 workers. The investment is expected to result in the creation of more than $12 million in new payroll wages per year to spur local economic growth.
“The business service sector is a growing industry and New York State is capturing and capitalizing on that growth with companies like Concentrix bringing employment opportunities to our state,” said Empire State Development President, CEO & Commissioner Kenneth Adams. “The creation of new jobs is a true success-story for the Greater Rochester region and demonstrates that national businesses see this region as a premier place to call home. Governor Cuomo should be commended for his success in making New York’s business climate more attractive for companies like Concentrix to expand and create jobs.”
“We are pleased that Concentrix is able to continue to invest in our Pittsford location and add new jobs to the Rochester economy,” said Concentrix Corporation Vice President and General Manager Dick Rapach.
Concentrix presented Empire State Development (ESD) and Monroe County with three distinct projects (for three distinct customers) that it considered locating in New York State, all with top line customers. Prior to reaching an agreement to expand its operations in New York, the company considered sites and incentive packages from Arizona and South Carolina for some or all of its expanded operations. New York State, through ESD, provided an $800,000 grant to offset hard project costs. Monroe County made an offer of a low-interest loan, as well as sales tax exemptions on the project investments.
