SC: Movement Mortgage to Invest $22M for Lancaster County HQ, Hire 650

Movement Mortgage, LLC, one of the fastest growing mortgage lenders in the country, is establishing national headquarters in Lancaster County. The company is investing $22 million to build its brand new headquarters, creating more than 650 new jobs.

Founded in 2008 and currently headquartered in Virginia Beach, Va., Movement Mortgage has grown tremendously in its first six years. Upon its inception, the company employed four workers. Today, the firm's total employment exceeds 1,600. As one of the nation's top 25 private mortgage banks, Movement Mortgage has licensed operations in 40 states. The company was named the nation's fastest-growing, privately held mortgage bank by Inc. in both 2012 and 2013.

The company's Lancaster County headquarters will be constructed in the Bailes Ridge Business Park on S.C. Highway 160. With the acquisition of 24 acres and construction of a new 104,000 square-foot headquarter building; Movement Mortgage will consolidate several offices. The consolidation will allow the company to increase efficiency and productivity, while allowing Movement Mortgage to continue promoting its unique work culture and founding vision, "to love and value people by leading a movement of change in our industry, corporate cultures and the communities in which we live and work."

Construction of the headquarters is expected to be completed in March 2016. Hiring for most of the new positions is anticipated to take place immediately.
