Allergan LLC Waco announces another expansion of its North American manufacturing facility located in Waco, Texas. The $10.6 million expansion project will include new manufacturing technology and increased production capacity to support a new product line. State-of-the-art automation and control systems were developed by Allergan's engineering team to support is ophthalmic pharmaceuticals production facility.
The year 2014 marks the 25th anniversary of the start of operations at the Waco facility, located within the 3,000 acre, master planned Texas Central Park. Since beginning operations in 1989, the site has seen significant growth and expansion, including the announcement of a multi-year expansion and projected $89.5 million capital investment in 2011.
The 22,000-square-foot expansion recently broke ground and is expected to complete in approximately one year. Following completion of construction, equipment commissioning and validation will commence prior to commercial operation. Allergan currently employs approximately 640 and expects the expansion to create 20 to 30 new jobs.
