Logistics Insight Corporation (LINC) is expanding operations at the Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) Air Cargo Hub, enabling the company to invest more than $1 million in assets and create jobs for the community.
LINC currently occupies 105,890 square feet of the cargo sort facility at FWA. Under the new lease agreement approved this week, LINC will lease an additional 59,480 square feet, for a total of 165,370 square feet of operations space.
“LINC has been a great stakeholder at the airport and the expansion of their space at the Air Cargo Hub signals LINC’s confidence in the community and a positive relationship with the airport,” said Patrick Dooley, Vice President of Airport Development for the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance. “This project not only adds to the airport’s non-aeronautical revenue stream, but it provides the community with new job opportunities.”
LINC’s investment will include improvements to internal warehouse infrastructure, IT upgrades, and the purchasing of mobile equipment and tractor trailer support. Approximately 50 new jobs will be added to the facility over the next 12 months at a pay rate of $10-$14 an hour, dependent on skill type. The company anticipates hiring to begin next month.
“Expanding our operations at Fort Wayne International Airport provides us the opportunity to continue growing and offering a high level of customer service to our clients,” said Matt Lock, LINC General Manager.
In addition to LINC’s investment, the Airport Authority will also invest more than $1 million in building modifications. These renovations include the installation of 10 dock doors, the removal of six embedded roller floors, and the construction of a 10 foot demising wall.
