NAPA Balkamp, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Company, will move its corporate headquarters from its current location in Indianapolis to Plainfield, IN. The relocation, which will take place by the end of 2017, will bring approximately 190 employees to the former Galyan’s headquarters’ building.
“We are delighted to welcome the NAPA Balkamp headquarters to Plainfield,” said Robin Brandgard, Town Council President. “They are an excellent company, and we already have a great relationship with them. Their Plainfield distribution center, which is located in our Airwest Business Park, has long been a source of good, high quality jobs. Locating their headquarters is here is a sign that they recognize Plainfield has the kind of amenities people are looking for. With their headquarters located in the Perry Crossing district, they’ll have housing, shopping, restaurants, and entertainment venues all within walking distance.”
“We know they have plans to grow the business and expect they will be adding more employees to their headquarters going forward,” said Town Manager Andrew Klinger. “We are confident their employees will find Plainfield a great place to work, live and raise a family.”
Located southwest of Indianapolis near the Indianapolis International Airport, Plainfield has a population of more than 30,000 and it is the second largest town Indiana. Well known as a logistics hub, Plainfield has more than 40 million square feet of warehouse and industrial space under roof.
“Many of our warehouses incorporate Class A office space within them and house professionals in disciplines like human resources, marketing, and information technology,” Klinger added. “The demand for Class A office space is picking up in Plainfield as well. Developers are showing interest in finding additional land for offices. We have the infrastructure in place, including high speed fiber, to fit the needs of modern office buildings.”
