Ferguson Enterprises, the nation’s largest wholesale distributor of residential and commercial plumbing supplies, opened a new distribution facility in Coxsackie.
The company has committed to creating 95 new jobs at the facility and retaining 319 retail jobs across the state with the completion of the distribution center, according to a press release from Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Ferguson’s $40.5 million project, which includes a 460,000 square-foot warehouse in the Fountain Flats Business Par, was made possible by $1.2 million in performance-based Excelsior Jobs Program Tax Credits from Empire State Development. The 95 new jobs at the facility have already begun to be filled and are focused on distribution operations on the floor.
The Coxsackie location, which is between Bronck Mill Road and U.S. Route 9W, was selected over locations in Connecticut and Rhode Island to serve as home to Ferguson’s first northeast distribution center.
In addition to being the largest wholesale distributor of residential and commercial plumbing supplies, the company is also a major distributor of HVAC/R equipment, waterworks and industrial products and services. The company was founded in 1953 and is headquartered in Newport News, Virginia.
