Red Wing Shoe Company is pleased to announce the activation of a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) at our distribution center in Salt Lake City, UT.
“On behalf of our Salt Lake City employees, we would like to thank the City of Salt Lake and the Port Authority for assisting us in bringing this project to life,” explains Dewey Rothering, Director of Logistics Operations for Red Wing Shoe Company. “This Foreign Trade Zone, the first in the state of Utah, will enable us to continue to improve our world class supply chain operation, provide timely, efficient order fulfillment to customers and create additional employment opportunities. Red Wing invested in Salt Lake City 65 years ago by establishing a warehouse in 1950. Since then we have increased investment and expanded operations here, as recently as September, 2014.”
The Red Wing Salt Lake City distribution operation comprises 140,000 square feet of warehouse and office space, including the recent addition of 60,000 square feet. The company invested in this additional infrastructure and new employees to serve our growing customer base. The operation will continue to grow with the addition of ecommerce fulfillment for the Irish Setter line of products beginning later this summer.
