Citing a growth in shipments, Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. relocated and expanded its Pasco Service Center.
The new service center, built on a seven-acre lot, is strategically located near Interstates 82, 84 and 90. Old Dominion operates five service centers in Washington.
Old Dominion has maintained a presence in Pasco for about five years, and the company’s business has grown ever since. The new center increases the number of doors at the Pasco Service Center from four to 28.
“This new service center provides Old Dominion with the space we need to continue our growth throughout the Tri-Cities region and beyond,” said Stephan Ferrians, the manager of the Pasco Service Center. “Our customers will benefit from uninterrupted service, an expanded service area and continued improvements in transit times.”
In addition to Pasco, Old Dominion will offer direct service from the terminal to a number of nearby cities, including Boardman, Connell, Ellensburg, Grandview, Hermiston, Quincy, Royal City, WallaWalla and Yakima.
The relocation, part of a $90-120 million investment Old Dominion has committed to real estate purchases and expansion projects in 2012, is the 14th service center addition or expansion the company has announced this year. New facilities the company has opened or expanded so far this year include Detroit; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Honolulu; Indianapolis; Morristown, Tennessee; Pensacola, Florida; and Seattle.
