KMT Waterjet Systems Inc., a designer and manufacturer of products used in high-pressure pump technology, which was recently purchased by Waterjet Holdings Inc., has announced it will continue to invest capital and grow its global headquarters in Baxter Springs.

“Kansas is an ideal place for manufacturers to grow and create good jobs, as KMT Waterjet Systems’ investment in our state demonstrates,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “We have a pro-growth business environment and a highly skilled workforce to support the efforts of businesses that help grow our economy.”

“Waterjet technology was invented in Baxter Springs, and we are delighted to continue to build on this heritage through the support of the state of Kansas and the local community,” KMT President and CEO Steve Harris said. “We believe that there are continued growth opportunities in a wide variety of end markets for our ultrahigh pressure technologies. A trained and capable workforce combined with the business friendly environment afforded by local and state partners are critical components of our continued success.”

“KMT Waterjet has been an important part of Baxter Springs’ business community for many years, and we are excited that they will continue in this role,” said Cherokee County Economic Development Director Janet Miller. “We look forward to working together to ensure their continued growth and success.”

KMT Waterjet Systems was founded in 1954 in a building located at 635 West 12th Street in Baxter Springs. The Baxter Springs location is the corporate office of KMT Waterjet Systems and is globally recognized as a leading manufacturer of waterjet systems.
