Cogmedix, a subsidiary of Coghlin Companies, Inc. has recently expanded their medical device contract manufacturing facility in Worcester, Massachusetts, to add an additional 8,500 square feet. The increase in space is accommodating growth in medical device manufacturing, servicing, warehousing, and order fulfillment. Cogmedix continues to grow organically through its existing customer base and innovative new customers, add talented resources, and expand capabilities. There has been a growing demand for manufacturing capabilities to support laser based medical devices and dental devices. Cogmedix is embracing this demand, which complements their current technical differentiation in manufacturing complex electro-mechanical medical devices.
"Cogmedix is the leading medical device contract manufacturer and service provider in the Northeast and our goal is to expand that reputation throughout North America," stated Matt Giza, Vice President and General Manager of Cogmedix. He continued, "Innovators of complex laser based medical devices can now benefit from a flexible, cost conscious medical device manufacturer with great experience and growing capabilities that can be leveraged across a wide customer base."
The recent expansion includes a 400-square-foot, Class 10,000 clean room with laminar flow hoods for additional sub environment particle control. Cogmedix has always differentiated itself by focusing on complex electro-mechanical devices; assembling, testing and packaging a variety of sophisticated electronics, sensors, user interfaces, and high precision mechanical components. Their technical differentiation continues to expand into optically based and laser based medical systems. This requires the same rigorous adherence to their ISO 13485 certified quality system and compliance with the FDA quality system regulation.
