The Missouri Department of Economic Development announced MMC Contractors National Inc., a Kansas City company that specializes in building large and complex projects, is creating 42 new high-paying jobs as a result of a more than $3 million expansion. The average annual salary of the jobs is $94,000.

“Missouri’s economy is continuing to grow — making it the perfect location for companies like MMC Contractors to expand and create jobs,” said Mike Downing, director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development. “We will continue to invest in our workforce so that more companies can create good paying jobs for families in Kansas City and throughout the state.”

The growth brings the company’s local workforce to about 100. New positions include equipment designers, installation technicians, project coordinators, company managers and back-office support personnel.

“It’s an exciting time to be operating in south Kansas City,” said Keith Andrews, president of MMC Contractors National. “The area is booming, and we are a part of that growth both in terms of our clients’ projects and our own growth.”

MMC Contractors National is a nationally certified mechanical contractor offering construction services to a number of sectors including healthcare, industrial and energy, among others. Licensed in more than 30 states, the company was founded in 1932 Kansas City, Missouri, and is part of the MMC Corporation family of companies.

To assist MMC Contractors National with its expansion, the Missouri Department of Economic Development has offered a strategic economic incentive package that the company can receive if it meets strict job creation and capital investment criteria.
