MS: Behold Home, Inc. Locating in Smithville, Creating 80 Jobs

Apr 08, 2014

Gov. Phil Bryant and officials from Behold Home, Inc. announced the company is locating manufacturing operations in Smithville, Miss. The project will create 80 jobs over three years.

Behold Home is a start-up motion furniture manufacturing company started by veteran furniture manufacturers from northeast Mississippi.

“I appreciate the team at Behold Home for locating these manufacturing operations in Smithville. The state has worked hard to support the redevelopment of Smithville since the tornado devastated the town three years ago, and the location of Behold Home and the creation of these new jobs is a great step in that direction,” Gov. Bryant said. “I thank the company for placing its confidence in our business climate and its trust in our workforce. I wish the company many years of success in northeast Mississippi.”

“Behold Home, Inc. is excited to be locating in Smithville. Behold is committed to developing and commercializing motion upholstered furniture that is produced domestically. Many factors were considered prior to choosing the manufacturing site, and after careful due diligence, Smithville was the best fit Behold Home’s business model,” said Behold Home President and CEO Lyle Harris. “Behold Home will strive to be a good corporate citizen in Smithville, Monroe County and the surrounding area by providing a stable, safe and dynamic working environment”.

The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance in support of the project for building modifications. Three Rivers Planning and Development District assisted with the project, as well.

“Since they have previous experience in the Mississippi furniture industry, we know the Behold Home team is aware of the quality of the workforce found in our state, and we thank them for creating these new job opportunities for the area’s residents,” said MDA Executive Director Brent Christensen. “MDA is glad to have the tools in place to assist great companies such as Behold Home as they plant roots in our state, and we thank our partners at Three Rivers Planning and Development District and Monroe County who worked with us to make this project possible.”

Headquartered in Tupelo, Miss., Behold Home, Inc. is led by veteran furniture manufacturers Lyle Harris, president and CEO, Larry Todd, vice president and COO and Bo Russell, treasurer and CFO.
