Celebrating the company’s decision to stay and grow in New Jersey, Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno joined officials from Ashland Inc. to mark the opening of a new 200,000 square foot laboratory and office space in Bridgewater.
“With New Jersey’s highly skilled and educated workforce and proactive approach to business, the Garden State provides an ideal location for some of the largest chemical manufacturing and science companies in the nation,” said Lt. Governor Guadagno. “The Christie Administration is proud that Ashland Specialty Ingredients will continue to call New Jersey home for its global research labs and personal care center of excellence as they work toward shaping the future of specialty chemicals.”
In March 2013, after considering sites in neighboring states, Ashland Specialty Ingredients announced that it would stay in New Jersey and relocate the majority of the 300 employees from its Wayne location to the new Bridgewater campus, which formerly housed Sanofi.
“We appreciate the tremendous support shown by Lt. Governor Guadagno and the Administration as Ashland evaluated potential sites for the relocation,” said Luis Fernandez-Moreno, president of Ashland Specialty Ingredients. “The Bridgewater site is close to many of our largest customers, especially in the pharmaceutical and personal care markets. Throughout the relocation process, the state of New Jersey has demonstrated its sincere commitment to working with Ashland as we position our business for future growth.”
