WI: Alto-Shaam Completing $8.3M Expansion in Menomonee Falls

Mar 14, 2013

Alto-Shaam was proud to welcome Governor Scott Walker to its expanding Menomonee Falls, Wis. manufacturing facility. As a market leader in foodservice equipment for decades, Alto-Shaam is on its way to completing a $8.3 million expansion to create an additional 26,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity, with the anticipation of added jobs over a three to five year period.

As a significant source of jobs in Waukesha County, this expansion adds to Alto-Shaam’s continued investment in the people and facilities of Wisconsin. And, thanks to the support given by the Governor and the state of Wisconsin, certain manufacturing currently performed by suppliers outside of Wisconsin will be brought to the Menomonee Falls facility, positioning Alto-Shaam to continue to support Wisconsin jobs.

The centralization and realignment of various automated equipment and manufacturing process works to drive cost reduction, improve product quality and further apply Alto-Shaam’s lean production principles by reducing scrap and improving raw material utilization. Investments in automated robotic welding, laser cutting and creation of a central fabrication unit will improve employee productivity and increase capacity to meet customers expanding global demand.

This expansion will allow Alto-Shaam to retain its number one market leadership position and continue to engineer and assemble the finest commercial cooking equipment in the global marketplace. While other companies consider re-shoring their production, Alto-Shaam is proud to be re-investing in Wisconsin.
