Zapp Precision Wire, Inc., a manufacturer of stainless steel, nickel alloys and titanium wire is expanding its operations in Dorchester County. The company will be investing $30 million in the expansion, adding an expected 20 new jobs in Summerville, S.C.
Founded in 1701 in Germany as a craft trade firm, the Zapp Group has committed more than three centuries to the steel industry. In that time, the companies of the Zapp Group have expanded their offerings to include three main business areas – precision strip, precision wire and materials engineering. In 1996, the Zapp Group opened its first United States production facility in Dorchester County. Located at 475 International Circle in Summerville, this expanded facility will allow the firm to accommodate a new production line, as well as manufacturing machinery and equipment. The expansion will add approximately 30,000 square feet to the existing facility.
