Condado Tacos, which specializes in build-your-own tacos, margaritas and tequilas, plans to open up to 100 new restaurants by 2026, reports Chain Store Age.
Founded in 2014 in Columbus, Ohio, Condado Tacos now operates 39 restaurants in 13 markets. The company is planning to open 12 new restaurants in 2023, in new markets that include St. Louis, Mo.; Louisville, Ky.; Knoxville, Tenn.; Greenville, S.C.; and Birmingham, Ala.
In 2020, Condado Tacos announced an investment partnership with New York-based private-equity firm The Beekman Group LLC, saying the partnership would allow the brand to grow into new markets. Beekman’s restaurant investment portfolio includes Another Broken Egg Café, full-service Mexican concept Ted’s Café Escondido and TBG Food Acquisition Corp., which operates a Dunkin franchise operation, reports CSA.
"We are thrilled to announce our goal to grow Condado Tacos significantly over the next few years," said Chris Artinian, president and CEO. "Offering clean, craveable, fresh ingredient driven tacos, margs and tequilas at a great value, with an average check of under $20, we provide a full-service dining experience unlike any other, and our partners at The Beekman Group are fully committed to our growth plan within existing and new markets."
Condado is known for its all-inclusive, “Come As You Are” culture. (There are no uniforms for employees.) The company also celebrates communities by working with local artists to hand paint the walls of every new restaurant with one-of-a-kind, floor-to-ceiling murals. The colorful murals reference landmarks and other local features.
Condada guests can top a variety of taco shells with their choice of proteins, toppings and sauces. The restaurants feature a full bar with a large assortment of 100% blue agave tequilas, and specialty margaritas.
The company has 39 locations in 13 markets that include Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Detroit, Indianapolis, Lexington, Nashville, Pittsburgh, and Charlotte.
