Love’s to Add 20 New Travel Stops in 2025

Jan 29, 2025

Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores plans to start construction on 20 new stores this year and begin updating 50 existing locations under its strategic remodel initiative, which launched in 2022. Love’s President Shane Wharton said the company has a  budget of about $1 billion for the new stores and remodels, including other projects. By 2035, Love’s said more than half of its 655 locations in 42 states will be newly constructed or remodeled.

“As we enter the year, we’re committed to continuing to enhance the customer experience for all,” Wharton said. “This year, we’re excited to introduce new and updated locations, innovative food and drinks and continued improvement of the services and amenities we offer. With our continued focus on the evolving needs of customers, we’re confident we’ll provide an even better experience across our network in 2025.”

Wharton said when it comes to Love’s M&A strategy for 2025, Love’s is “always looking at opportunities to build out our travel stop network if any of those opportunities are there.”

Love’s will also add 83 RV hookups to 17 locations in 2025, surpassing the 100-location mark. Love's has 31 existing EV charging locations and 165 chargers. It will add 80 chargers to 20 Love’s locations in 2025.

Love’s is growing its network of EV charging stations, in part, through National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) grants. The company was awarded $83 million in 2024 for the construction of chargers in 13 states.

Construction will start in 2025 on new fast chargers in eight states: Alabama, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
