OHM Fitness reported it will open 35 EMS fitness studios in New Jersey and Washington D.C. through its franchise partners over the next few years.
Jake & Alyssa Kapneck secured the area representative rights to open 30 locations in New Jersey and five in D.C. The Kapnecks also have locked down the first rights to bring the concept to Maryland once the new franchise is officially registered in that state.
OHM Fitness offers an intense two-hour workout in a low-impact, 25-minute session. The first studio opened in the company’s headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ, in June and, since then, sold the rights to five territories, including 121 franchise licenses. Territories in development include Arizona, San Diego, South Florida, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C.
“OHM Fitness is going to change the way people in the U.S. workout. It’s all about efficiency and using technology to get better results in less time. We use tech to make every other part of our lives more efficient; now it’s time for fitness to catch up,” said Jake Kapneck.
“We are able to deliver better results than a person can achieve from spending two or three hours in the gym in one 25-minute class three times per week. OHM Fitness is completely different from any other fitness concept in the U.S. today,” said founder and CEO Doug Payne. “This technology has been popular in Europe for decades, and others have tried similar concepts in the U.S., but no one has found the right delivery and format. We have nailed it, and our members’ results are mind-blowing.”
