AR: Metova Inc. Holds Ribbon-cutting Ceremony for Fayetteville Office

Feb 18, 2016

Governor Asa Hutchinson joined leaders from Metova Inc. for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the company’s new Fayetteville location. Metova focuses on creating mobile, Web and cybersecurity solutions having worked with companies including Yelp, Dropbox, eHarmony, Eddie Bauer, Dunkin Donuts, Dartmouth, the U.S. Army Cyber Battle Lab, and the UK Government Communications Headquarters.

“Fayetteville’s culture, lifestyle and living conditions offer an ideal location for our new office,” said John Adams, CEO of Metova Inc. “We’ve been looking forward to opening our offices here. If you are a talented engineer or designer, we would love to speak with you.”

Metova opened offices in Conway, Arkansas, in January 2015 initially planning to create more than 60 new jobs. However, due to the company’s growth and innovation, Metova announced in July that it planned to hire an additional 100 positions in Conway. In October, the company announced an expansion into Northwest Arkansas to meet the demands of the rapidly growing mobile and digital media industry.

“Last year, Metova experienced rapid growth and announced three expansions in Arkansas,” said Governor Asa Hutchinson. “They know that Arkansas has a workforce second to none when it comes to helping technology businesses succeed. And now that Arkansas is leading the nation in computer science education, tech companies will continue to have access to a growing skilled workforce for years to come.”

Metova’s processes and culture allow it to easily adapt to the ever-changing mobile environment and adoption of new technologies. Metova has been designing and developing Android apps since the first Android phone, the T-Mobile G1, was released in 2008. In 2009, developers started training in Objective-C to support the demand for iPhone and iPad apps. Having worked on the BlackBerry, Android, and iOS platforms since their releases, Metova is considered a veteran in the mobile world. When Web applications and cybersecurity became a necessity, Metova expanded its capabilities to include Apache Cordova, AngularJS, Ruby on Rails and cybersecurity solutions such as Cyber Health Assessments.

“Fayetteville is excited to welcome Metova to our community,” said Steve Clark, president and CEO of the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce. “Metova is a highly respected and admired company in the world of mobile technology, particularly in Web applications and cybersecurity.  With Metova locating adjacent to the Fayetteville Square, it will be joining the high-tech innovation and startup ecosystem which Fayetteville is creating in this area.  Fayetteville and Metova are all about innovation.  The partnership between these two entities will benefit Fayetteville and all of Arkansas.”
