FUJIFILM North America Corporation announced the unveiling of its all-new Open Innovation Hub (OI-Hub) in California’s Silicon Valley. The new U.S. OI-Hub will give business partners and customers a first-person experience of Fujifilm’s rich variety of leading-edge technologies and new products.
“Fujifilm’s new OI-Hub is one of a new group of business development partnering tools. These partnering tools have been designed to drive Fujifilm’s leading edge technologies and products through conventional market barriers at an accelerated rate”
The core technologies represented at the U.S. OI-Hub demonstrate the wide diversity of products and markets that Fujifilm has innovated using fundamental capabilities that stem from its photography and imaging achievements. In the OI-Hub, represented markets include energy, environment, information technology, transportation, bio-pharma and regenerative medicine, all areas where Fujifilm is leading technological innovation.
“We are very pleased to see that Fujifilm, a renowned Japanese Corporation, has decided to invest and open one of their three worldwide Technology Hubs here in Silicon Valley,” said Carl Guardino, CEO of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group.
Global Innovation Partner
“Our mission at Fujifilm is to reach out to the innovation community using the OI-Hub and then partner to bring these new Fujifilm technologies to market faster,” said Dr. Bruce Novich, division president, FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Industrial and Corporate New Business Development Division. “Fujifilm’s new OI-Hub is one of a new group of business development partnering tools. These partnering tools have been designed to drive Fujifilm’s leading edge technologies and products through conventional market barriers at an accelerated rate,” added Dr. Novich.
Tide of Innovation
The new U.S. OI-Hub is modeled on the newly established Tokyo Open Innovation Hub at Fujifilm’s headquarters where business partners can experience and explore first-hand the core technologies that underlie materials and products developed by the Fujifilm Group, as well as fresh breakthrough technologies, materials and products currently under development.
“The U.S. OI-Hub enables North American customers and new business partners to engage in collaborative dialog with our leading technologists, and to discover the depth and breadth of Fujifilm’s global technology portfolio. Collaborators will directly interface with Fujifilm’s global innovators through a series of interaction tools which have been designed to facilitate rapid technology understanding and co-ideation which can accelerate and support their own innovative research, products and services” said Dr. Novich.
The ideation process at the OI-Hub will inspire visitors to engage with Fujifilm’s technical advances and other business innovators from around the world. The resulting insights and opportunities will be fed back into the Fujifilm business units and functions to inspire the company’s own commercialization process.
Immersion Experience for Innovators
The new U.S. OI-Hub features five immersive zones that bring all of Fujifilm’s latest technologies to life for every visitor to encounter, learn, create, be inspired and touch Fujifilm’s newest technologies and products. Display themes within the zones include control of light, control of activity of materials, input and output of images and information, recording and transfer of images and information, and scaffolding for cells.
