KS: Health Outcomes Sciences Moves to Overland Park, Adds 37 Jobs

Dec 14, 2012

The Overland Park Chamber Economic Development Council announced that Health Outcomes Sciences (HOS) will relocate to Overland Park. A healthcare IT firm, Health Outcomes Sciences will locate its offices in the Southcreek Office Park where it is projecting to add 37 new jobs within the next five years. In addition, the company expects a net capital investment of close to $1 million associated with its move.

"We are looking forward to this move. Overall, Kansas City has always provided a rich environment for both business and professional growth in healthcare and over the past 20 years, that growth opportunity has extended south to include businesses, healthcare professionals and hospitals in Overland Park," said Mike Fiorito, COO of Health Outcome Sciences.

Since 2009, Health Outcomes Sciences has been a market leader of an evidence-based value approach to healthcare and a driving force behind clinical practice change through its national deployment of a web-based software system. The software, through which complex mathematical algorithms for patient-specific risk can be translated, rendered and delivered to clinicians at the point of care, has been nominated as a finalist for the prestigious ClearMark Award.

Company officials were attracted to Overland Park because of the opportunity it provides for collaboration with other innovative small business leaders and healthcare IT companies. As it looks to the future and its continued growth within the community, Health Outcomes Sciences is already planning to collaborate with the Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS), a program providing local high school students with authentic, profession-based educational opportunities.

"I would like to welcome Health Outcomes Sciences to Kansas," said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. "It’s terrific for the state’s economy to have the company investing in Kansas and creating great new jobs. I’m proud Kansas can provide a business setting that will help them do so."

"Information technology in the healthcare industry is significantly changing the delivery of medical services for patients," stated Carl Gerlach, mayor of Overland Park. "Overland Park is fortunate to have Health Outcomes Sciences bring its medical and IT expertise, and its nearly 40 top-notch employees, to this nationally recognized community to sustain and expand the company in the fast-paced, high demand healthcare industry."
