TX: EarthLink Opens New Dallas Data Center and Sales Office

Apr 23, 2013

As part of its nationwide IT services and data center network expansion, EarthLink, Inc., a leading IT services and communications provider, announced the opening of its newest data center located at 2323 Bryan Street, Dallas. EarthLink has also opened a new local sales office and is growing its employee base to fulfill business demand for its highly secure, comprehensive IT solutions including cloud hosting, Cloud Workspace, managed security, colocation, Cloud Server Backup and application solutions in the Dallas metro area.

Leveraging geographically diverse data centers, EarthLink is creating fault-tolerant, enterprise class IT solutions with nationwide availability and high-performing network connectivity. In addition to Dallas, EarthLink will open three additional data centers in Chicago, San Jose and Miami in the coming months. These four new data centers, in addition to the existing center in Pittsford, NY, provide the company with a total of five data centers on its next generation cloud hosting platform. Combined with EarthLink's current data centers in Atlanta, Columbia, SC and Marlborough, MA, EarthLink will soon operate eight data centers in total linked to its nationwide IP network. One of the first EarthLink customers installed in the Dallas data center is Mexico City-based Payrolling, a leader in payroll and human resources consulting services in Mexico. Payrolling initially selected EarthLink for a comprehensive, customized virtual data center solution that included Dedicated Server with Platinum-level Managed Hosting, Dedicated Hosted Email, Hosted Network Security and external and internal vulnerability and audit assessments. Now, EarthLink will provide redundant servers in Dallas to provide native SAN to SAN replication between two data centers. Click here to view EarthLink's Payrolling case study.

"EarthLink has always provided us with first-class service, and our partnership has played a fundamental part in our growth and ability to stay a step ahead with technology," said Marcelo Ahuerma, Payrolling IT and Implementation Manager. "Our new solution will migrate our dedicated servers in Pittsford, NY to the vCloud solution in the new Dallas data center with a complete SAN to SAN backup between two data centers. We expect a very positive improvement in security, redundancy, and performance and look forward to continuing to strengthen our relationship."

Today, EarthLink held a free 'Join the Cloud Evolution' seminar for Dallas-area businesses at Cowboys Stadium that showcased how services such as Cloud Hosting, Dedicated Exchange and Data Center Firewalls help business performance. Cisco and NetApp joined EarthLink for this informational event introducing the new data center and EarthLink capabilities.

"Dallas is a booming business market, and an important communications hub and distribution point for IP traffic. Opening a data center here is an important step in our motion to create a regionally-diverse, expanded IT solutions footprint to support the growing and evolving needs of companies as they seek to virtualize their businesses," said Michael D. Toplisek, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for EarthLink. "Our new Dallas data center leverages a state-of-the-art, integrated computing and storage platform designed to support current and future IT service demands with best-in-breed platforms."
