Donan Engineering Co., Inc. announced plans to open a new office in Charleston, West Virginia. Donan will begin offering forensic investigative services from our Charleston office on May 1, 2012. This office opening will be Donan's first office presence in the state of West Virginia.
"We could not be more excited to begin offering services in the state of West Virginia with the opening of a Charleston location," says Kevin B. Abell, Donan Engineering's chief sales and marketing officer. "With our corporate office being in Kentucky, it is a natural transition for our firm to begin offering forensic services in a bordering state. Along with our new local staff in West Virginia, we will also be able to bring in additional staff from our Kentucky locations if workloads require more manpower. Our business is inherently unpredictable since we work a lot around Mother Nature, so it's important to always have contingency plans in the event we are impacted by a large catastrophe situation."
Abell went on to say, "At Donan, we refuse to sacrifice customer service and turnaround times, regardless of our work volume. We've developed a business culture based on consistently doing things effectively and efficiently so that our clients can get the accurate answers they need quickly so they are better able to serve their own customers. By having more offices in closer locations, it allows for us more flexibility with our resources so we are better able to maintain our industry-leading service and turnaround time."
Donan Engineering offers consumers a single source for forensic engineering investigations and fire origin & cause investigations. The firm offers a wide array of services falling under the main categories of structural engineering investigations, fire and explosion origin & cause investigations, roofing investigations, and component testing.
Donan Engineering is a third-generation, family-owned engineering firm that was founded in 1947 in Madisonville, Kentucky. From 1947 until 1999, the firm focused on providing mostly conventional engineering services (civil, structural, environmental, mining, architecture, etc.). In 1999, with approximately 20 employees in four offices, the decision was made to focus exclusively on the forensic engineering and fire investigation industry. In 2005, the firm relocated its company headquarters to Louisville, Kentucky.
With the addition of the new West Virginia office, Donan Engineering will have 42 offices located throughout 25 states. Currently, the firm employs approximately 220 employees, and that number is anticipated to grow to near 280 employees by the end of 2012. In 2011, the firm completed approximately 27,000 forensic investigations for a client base consisting primarily of insurance companies, attorneys, commercial property owners and businesses, manufacturers, utilities, and homeowners.
