Mar 26, 2019
Gulf Packaging, Inc., a corrugated box manufacturer based in North Baldwin County,
announced plans to construct a new manufacturing facility to support the company’s
future growth and expansion near Bay Minette. The new 85,000-square-foot facility will house the
company’s material handling and manufacturing processes, and is expected to create 16 new jobs and
more than $8 million in capital investment to Baldwin County over the next three years.

“This new investment in Gulf Packaging is due to the results of our dedicated Gulf Packaging team that
puts in the hard work, each day, enabling us to be successful as people and a company,” said Larry
Taylor, president of Gulf Packaging, Inc. “We are very thankful for our many loyal customers that trust
us every day to be there at the appointed time with our boxes, and it is with great pride that we serve
our employees, customers, vendors, government, and community. These are exciting times, and we
appreciate our business and community partners who have played a role in this project and continue to
work with us as we grow our company and prepare ourselves for the future.”

Gulf Packaging, headquartered in Bay Minette, AL, is an ISO 9001 certified supplier and full line
manufacturer of corrugated shipping boxes and supplies. Founded in 1990, the company is a longtime
industrial employer of Baldwin County, with 5 additional locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia,
Mississippi and Louisiana. Gulf Packaging’s specialty in custom design and quick product delivery has
helped the company ensure a reputation of dependability in service to their existing and prospective
customer base throughout the Southeastern U.S.
"The City of Bay Minette is very excited about the expansion of Gulf Packaging’s production facility in
our community,” stated Bob Wills, Mayor of the City of Bay Minette. “Not only is it a testament to the
folks at Gulf Packaging and their dedication to their customers and employees, but it is another example
of the results that can be realized from the pro-business atmosphere here in Bay Minette and Baldwin
County.”

Gulf Packaging’s new facility will be located adjacent to their existing operations in the Bay Minette
Industrial Park. The updated facility will enable the company to increase its current manufacturing
capacity and modernize its equipment, with the installation of new converting machinery designed to
increase productivity and product flow.

Lee Lawson, president and CEO of the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance, said this is a
testament to Baldwin County’s continued support of its existing industry’s growth and expansion.
Ranked by SmartAsset as the No. 1 place in the state of Alabama for incoming business investment,
Baldwin County has seen consistent annual job growth, adding 11,600 net new jobs over the last 5
years.

“We want businesses to know that Baldwin County is prepared to help them succeed, whether we are
their first home or their newest home,” said Skip Gruber, Baldwin County Commissioner, District No. 4.
“Gulf Packaging is a Baldwin County-based business that is choosing to grow and expand, right here at
home. Their decision is evidence of our county’s strength and an indicator that our future continues to
look bright.”

Construction on Gulf Packaging’s new facility is already underway, with plans to be operational by the
end of 2019. Over the coming months, the company will be looking for talented individuals to fill a wide
