The Gilbreath Plant in Ider, which closed last year, has been purchased and is expected to be in full production by early April. The plant has been purchased by Jeff Haymon, Jim Hicks and Brad Jacoway. According to Haymon, the plant will be called Steel Plus and will perform structural steel fabrication work. Haymon said they hope to be able to start getting the building ready Feb. 1, and he expects to be in full production by early April. Although applications are not being taken now, Haymon said he expects to begin the application process around March 1. Jobs will be advertised and will be available through the Alabama Employment Office.
