Governor Jan Brewer joined Chandler Mayor Boyd Dunn today in announcing International Rectifier Corporation is expanding its operations in Arizona. The company is a global leader in power management technology, developing and manufacturing power semiconductors and integrated circuits.
“International Rectifier Corporation is making a significant investment in Arizona; bringing quality jobs that are critical for this state to become more competitive in the global economy," said Governor Janice K. Brewer. "Arizona is a strategic location with a highly skilled workforce, low payroll taxes, and the right incentive programs to make business sense – and with my Arizona Commerce Authority, we are focused on ensuring Arizona is attracting the industries necessary for the 21st Century, those that are vital to the Arizona Comeback."
International Rectifier will locate in the City of Chandler and create 80 new, high wage jobs.
"Today Chandler welcomes a true industry leader to its borders," Mayor Boyd Dunn said. "The continued diversification of the Chandler employment base is key to our success despite these past few years of a troubled economy. This decision to locate in Chandler shows that we remain committed to recruit and bring the best companies and jobs to the community."
“We are excited to be growing in Arizona,” said International Rectifier President and CEO Oleg Khaykin. “We have selected Arizona because of its attractive semiconductor industry ecosystem, highly educated labor force, high quality of life and low operational costs. We were further impressed by Arizona’s “can do” attitude.”
Khaykin thanked Governor Brewer, the Arizona Commerce Authority, GPEC and Chandler for their strong support and pro-active involvement in helping company make Arizona its choice.
