A Georgia-based company that manufactures products for the heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration industry is coming to Lake County.

DiversiTech Corp., of Duluth, Ga., will open a new facility in Leesburg after its sales demonstrated consistent growth in Florida. The project, known as Project Breeze, falls under Florida’s qualified target industry and designated high-impact sector – Advanced Manufacturing – and was approved for Florida’s Qualified Targeted Industry (QTI) incentive program. The company was recruited to the local area by the county’s Elevate Lake effort.

“On behalf of the Board of County Commissioners and Lake County residents, we are pleased to welcome DiversiTech to Leesburg and Lake County,” said Lake County Commission Vice Chair Wendy Breeden. “We appreciate the collaborative efforts of the City of Leesburg and Elevate Lake to help bring this project to fruition and are honored that DiversiTech has chosen to invest in our community.”

DiversiTech will create a minimum of 25 jobs with an average annual wage commitment of at least $37,620. The company also will invest more than $2 million in capital improvements onsite.

The state’s total QTI incentive amount is $125,000 over a five-year period, with Lake County committing to $25,000 of the total.

“DiversiTech made the investment in Leesburg to expand our concrete manufacturing capacity and to improve service to our Florida customers by taking advantage of the central location and the terrific workforce,” said DiversiTech CEO Andy Bergdoll. “The Leesburg plant is our second manufacturing plant in Florida and our seventh manufacturing plant in the U.S.”

Elevate Lake, the City of Leesburg and Enterprise Florida worked together to attract DiversiTech Corp. to Lake County.

“The city is extremely proud to be the Florida home of DiversiTech,” said Leesburg City Manager Al Minner. “DiversiTech is a great company that will bring quality jobs and great investment to our community. But more than that, DiversiTech’ s operations are a perfect match for the Leesburg/Lake County economy.”

DiversiTech is best known for its line of air conditioning condenser pads. Headquartered in Metro Atlanta, the company maintains more than 1 million square feet of manufacturing and distribution space in key U.S., Canadian and European locations.
