CareCentrix Inc., the nation’s leading provider of home health benefits management services, announced today the expansion of its Tampa operations. The opening of a second facility at Westlake Corporate Center made room for 152 new jobs bringing the total CareCentrix workforce in Tampa to more than 500 employees.
“Our benefit management services play an increasingly significant role in the delivery of quality, cost-effective home health care with improved outcomes,” said Eric Reimer, chief executive officer at CareCentrix. “As a result of CareCentrix’s growth, the workforce at our Tampa location has increased over 40% in each of the past two years. The decision to expand our Tampa operations reflects a key component of our commitment to provide excellent customer service and care to our customers in the region.”
Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation (EDC), Enterprise Florida, and the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners made a strong case for growth in Tampa to put it at the top of CareCentrix’s list for an expansion site. The privately-held company is headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut, and also operates care centers in Phoenix, Arizona; Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Kansas City, Kansas.
CareCentrix has had operations in the Tampa Bay area since 1996. The company chose to expand its Tampa operations based on the region’s healthcare experienced workforce, proximity to key customers and incentives provided by the state of Florida and Hillsborough County. “Hillsborough County continues to demonstrate its commitment to economic development with collaborative efforts to attract high quality jobs,” said Hillsborough County Commission Chairman Al Higginbotham. “I am excited by this most recent success story and am confident the entire community will benefit as a result of this expansion.”
CareCentrix’s second facility at Westlake Corporate Center is approximately 31,000 square feet. The company’s Tampa locations house positions in clinical support, customer service, product development, information technology, billing, training and quality assurance. The company has recently been awarded contracts from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee.
“Clearly, Florida is making headway in its economic growth and diversification efforts as evidenced by CareCentrix’s decision to expand in Tampa. It demonstrates that Florida welcomes and encourages business expansion, and that we have built the right foundation to enable it,” said Gray Swoope, president & CEO of Enterprise Florida Inc.
