FL: Orlando Media Company 'Growing Bolder' Adds Staff, Studio Space

Jan 04, 2021
Orlando media company Growing Bolder, which focuses primarily on multimedia content related to those age 50 and older, recently moved into a 7,500-square-foot studio and hired 14 people. The company's content includes the "Growing Bolder" show that is broadcast on 302 public television stations nationwide, as well as social media and digital content that earns more than 250 million impressions a year. The media company also produces a 159,000-subscriber magazine.

Included with all that is a multi-year strategic partnership Growing Bolder signed with Jacksonville-based Florida Blue Medicare to produce content around health and wellness meant to break some of the stigmas around aging, Growing Bolder President Robert Thompson told Orlando Business Journal.

"There is a void of people speaking to the 50+ demographic in a way that resonates," Thompson said. "The age 50, 60, 70 or 80 is not what it was 10 or 20 years ago."

OBJ reports that the company has additional plans to grow in 2021, expanding its office to 10,000 square feet soon, adding additional workers and launching new programing.
