FL: Sanitas Medical Centers to Add 8 Bilingual Clinics, 75 Jobs

Nov 07, 2018

Sanitas Medical Centers will open eight bilingual clinics and add 75 jobs in Central Florida by fourth-quarter 2018

The clinics are a joint venture between Jacksonville-based nonprofit GuideWell Mutual Holding Co. and multinational health care business group Organización Sanitas Internacional.

The facilities, which will offer service to GuideWell subsidiary Florida Blue customers, will include family primary care services, urgent care, laboratory and diagnostic imaging services.

“Central Florida is a highly diverse community with residents from a variety of cultures,” said Tony Jenkins, Florida Blue Central Florida market president, in a prepared statement. “As part of Florida Blue’s mission of helping people and communities achieve better health, we recognize the importance of offering culturally-relevant health care solutions to our members. The Sanitas Medical Centers will provide our members with comprehensive health care in a personal and approachable way that’s in the language they feel most comfortable using.”

The facilities will be in the following locations, Florida Blue spokeswoman Christie DeNave told Orlando Business Journal:

  • 1750 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando
  • 8995 W. Colonial Drive, Ocoee
  • 5160 S. John Young Pkwy., Orlando
  • 1307 E. Osceola Pkwy., Kissimmee
  • 1908 Boothe Cir., Longwood
  • 258 S. Chickasaw Trail, Orlando
  • 833 E. Oak St., Kissimmee
  • 381 Cypress Pkwy., Kissimmee

The facilities all will be operational by the end of the year, DeNave said. They will be comprised of a mix of existing buildings and new construction which Sanitas did not commission.

In addition, Sanitas will add 75 jobs with the facilities, such as medical providers, nurses, office staff and medical assistants. Florida Blue also will employ about 13 employees, including for its on-site concierge centers.

Sanitas Medical Centers was started in 2015 and currently serves over 200,000 Florida Blue members at 10 locations, including Doral, Tampa, Hialeah and West Kendall.
