STUART, FL (August 24, 2010) – The Business Development Board of Martin County is pleased to announce the expansion of Sheet Metal Unlimited, a general fabrication and machine shop partly owned by James Crocker, CEO of Waterblasting Technologies and Jose Guch, the company’s president. The company, which currently employs 22, has entered into a lease-purchase agreement for space located at 3920 SE Commerce Street as part of the expansion.
Sheet Metal Unlimited moved from 9,500 square feet on Dominica Terrace in the City of Stuart to over 36,000 square feet in its new location. This move is to accommodate future growth, but also to alleviate overcrowding and create space for the addition of approximately $850,000 in new equipment – a state-of-the-art laser cutter and sand blasting booth.
“Time and time again, the BDBMC has proved itself to be a great strategic business partner for me,” said James Crocker, CEO of Sheet Metal Unlimited and Waterblasting Technologies. “They worked closely with my leadership team to offer the company options that would satisfy our expansion needs, allowing us to stay focused on our core business.”
BDBMC staff leveraged its GIS-based site selection tool, www.MartinCountyProspector.com, to identify potential locations for Sheet Metal Unlimited’s expansion. “Martin County Prospector allows us to quickly locate available existing commercial and industrial space based on our client’s needs,” said Ron Bunch, executive director of the Business Development Board of Martin County. “Often, we must respond to our client’s request within 24 hours, so having a complete database with the right product is crucial for our business development efforts.”
“The Waterblasting Technologies umbrella of companies is an important one for Martin County as they employ many in our community and export a large percentage of their products, bringing new money back to the area,” continued Bunch. “An expansion of this magnitude is significant and we congratulate the company on its continued expansion.”
