Indiana Economic Development Association (IEDA) presented its first Shining Star Award to Clarence Hulse, Executive Director, Economic Development Corporation Michigan City.
The Shining Star Award was created to highlight professionals in economic development that are creative and committed to professional economic development in Indiana and have a track record of significant accomplishment.
Hulse has a track record in two Indianan communities, Michigan City and Jeffersonville in creating sustainable solutions for economic issues and has demonstrated his commitment to excellence in the field of community and economic development.
Wendy Dant Chesser, Chair of IEDA stated “We are excited about this award, Clarence has an exemplary commitment to and a distinguished track record in economic development in the state of Indiana. He is a problem solver and a change maker in every community he has been in. We are excited about his leadership and we value his skills, experience, and knowledge to the IEDA and the State of Indiana.”
“I am both honored and humbled to be recognized by my peers. I am excited about the state of economic development in Indiana and look forward to continue serving my community and sharing my knowledge,” said Clarence Hulse, EDCMC Executive Director.
Clarence has worked in the City of Michigan City for 6 years and the city has seen tremendous job growth and economic investment under his leadership. The EDCMC is currently rolling its new Strategic Economic Development Action Plan 2019-2013 that will focus on economic inclusiveness, workforce development, placemaking storytelling and economic modernization.
