Arrow Container, LLC, a local corrugated container manufacturer, announced today that it will expand operations at its Indianapolis headquarters. This expansion will create an additional 65 jobs in the community by 2015.
Arrow, which manufactures and supplies a variety of packaging materials ranging from custom cartons to foam and tape, plans to invest $3.49 million in new machinery and improvements at its 80,000-square-foot facility on the southeast side of the city.
"Arrow Container has called Indianapolis its home for 30 years, and we are proud that we have created an environment that allows Hoosier businesses to grow and thrive," said Mitch Roob, Secretary of Commerce and chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
The company will continue to employ its current workforce of 60 employees and plans to begin hiring 65 additional production associates later this year.
"It is exciting to see the work that is being done by IEDC to create an environment for businesses like Arrow Container to thrive and succeed. We are excited to have the opportunity to continue to grow and provide more jobs and training in our community," said Jim Lasarre, president and chief executive officer of Arrow Container.
Headquartered in Indianapolis since its incorporation in 1982, Arrow Container is a major Midwest manufacturer and supplier of packaging materials with the ability to design unique packaging for individual items. Recent accomplishments for the company include ISO 9001 registration and certification. This certification confirms that the company's quality management system meets an internationally accepted quality standard.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Arrow Container up to $400,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $75,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. The city of Indianapolis will consider additional property tax abatement at the request of Develop Indy.
"We are beginning to see increased interest from manufacturers in adding new jobs and making investments in Indianapolis. We are excited to add Arrow Container's expansion in Franklin Township to other recent announcements by companies such as Allison, Pure Power Technologies, Genesis Casket Company, and Rolls-Royce," said Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard.
The Arrow Container news comes less than a month after StreetLinks Lender Solutions, an Indianapolis real estate appraisal management services provider, announced plans to further expand its Central Indiana operations, creating more than 150 new jobs by 2013.
