IN: Automotive Supplier to Grow Its New Albany Operations

Oct 11, 2010

TG Missouri announced today that it will expand its operations in New Albany, creating up to 30 new jobs by 2013. The company recently was awarded a contract to supply components for the new Camry model.

Founded in 1986, TG Missouri Corporation manufactures consoles, dashboard equipment, painted trim parts and other safety components for its customers and will invest more than $3 million to upgrade machinery at its existing New Albany facility.

"This investment could have gone to a number of facilities in neighboring states, but once again Indiana is coming out as the top choice due to our business friendly environment and skilled workforce," said Mitch Roob, Secretary of Commerce and chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.

TG Missouri, which currently employs nearly 90 associates in New Albany, plans to begin hiring additional manufacturing and supervisory associates in 2011. TG Missouri is a supplier of automotive parts and a subsidiary of TG North America Corporation.

"We value the collaborative efforts made on our behalf by the state of Indiana, the city of New Albany, and One Southern Indiana," said John VanCleve, vice president of TG Missouri New Albany.  "The team went to great lengths to deliver the right solutions for our needs as an expanding company.  We are thrilled to continue operating right here in Southern Indiana."

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered TG Missouri Corporation up to $200,000 in performance-based tax credits based on the company's job creation plans. The city of New Albany will consider additional property tax abatement at the request of One Southern Indiana.

"I am very pleased that TG Missouri has confidence in New Albany to invest and expand its operations.  The incentives the city has put forth-tax abatement and HVAC assistance-were intended to create local jobs and improve working conditions for assembly and manufacturing personnel. That is exactly what these incentives have produced," said New Albany Mayor Doug England.

Indiana's manufacturing industry received an overall "A" grade in the 2010 Manufacturing and Logistics Report Card, released in July by Conexus Indiana. The state also received "A" grades for its global manufacturing position and tax climate.
