The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) has announced approval of state tax credits for a Kansas City business under the Enhanced Enterprise Zone (EEZ) program to assist in the creation of new jobs and investment.
Posty Cards, Kansas City, has been approved for $198,089 in EEZ state tax credits over a five-year period for the creation of 21 new jobs and new investment of $6.7 million for the expansion facility at 1600 Olive Street, Kansas City. The business operations at the project facility will be a manufacturing facility.
“Awarding these EEZ tax credits is evidence of DED’s continued commitment to working with communities to create new opportunities that will transform Missouri’s economy for the future,” DED Interim Director Katie Steele Danner said. “The Enhanced Enterprise Zone Program is a successful tool DED can bring to the table that will help further support Kansas City’s economic development efforts and give them a competitive edge in attracting new business opportunities.”
The Enhanced Enterprise Zone program was implemented in 2004. Enhanced enterprise zones are specified geographic areas designated by local governments and certified by the Department of Economic Development. Zone designation is based on certain demographic criteria, the potential to create sustainable jobs in a targeted industry and a demonstrated impact on local cluster development.
