Bluegrass Supply Chain Services, a third-party logistics provider founded in Bowling Green, Kentucky, is expanding and building its second location in the community.

Bluegrass Supply Chain Services, a third-party logistics provider founded in Bowling Green, Kentucky, is expanding and building its second location in the community. The company’s $25M investment will build over 400K SF in facilities and create 110 new jobs for the region.

Andy Beshear said. “This investment highlights the continued growth of existing businesses in our state, which play an integral role in building a brighter future for Kentuckians.”

Founded in 2002, Bluegrass Supply Chain Services is celebrating its 20th anniversary in September. BSC provides value-added warehousing and supply chain services to customers within the automotive, food/beverage, and consumer products sectors. The company offers warehousing, reverse logistics, e-commerce fulfillment, and transportation management services across a six-state region, with approximately 40% of its customer base located in Kentucky. Its sister company, Bluegrass Dedicated – also based in Bowling Green – operates a fleet of 100 tractors that provide transportation services to customers throughout the United States.

“We are excited to develop a new corporate office, warehouse space, and a truck facility to support our operations in Bowling Green and Warren County. This community has been fantastic for our business. The location on 68/80 provides us easy access to the new connector road to Interstate 65 and close proximity to many of our customers,” said John Higgins, CEO of Bluegrass Supply Chain Services.

The company’s new job creation and investment into our economy will have a significant economic impact on the region that will exceed $184M over the next decade and will support an additional 169 jobs in the community. Spending by the company’s new employees will also generate over $5.5M in the local economy each year. This includes over $292K new dollars being spent at local restaurants, over $155k spent on entertainment, $198K spent on shopping for new clothes, and more than $300K spent each year on buying vehicles.

Year to date, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce has announced five economic development projects in South Central Kentucky, totaling $2.28B in capital investment and creating 2,310 new jobs in the region. Bowling Green was also recently recognized for the ninth consecutive year as one of the Top 6 Tier 2 Metros in the United States by Site Selection Magazine. The Chamber has also been awarded the Mac Conway Award and recognized as a Top 20 Economic Development Organization in the Country for a second straight year.
