Gov. Steve Beshear today joined United States Congressman Hal Rogers, community leaders and officials from Senture Connect to announce the company’s plans to expand its contact center in Monticello. The privately held Limited Liability Company will create up to 222 new, full-time jobs over the next several months as a result of the project and invest more than $7.9 million in the Commonwealth.

“Kentucky is pleased to partner with Senture Connect on its latest expansion,” said Gov. Beshear. “This new contact center will offer hundreds of families new job opportunities, providing a tremendous economic boost to the community. We will continue to work with Senture Connect and Congressman Rogers to create additional economic development opportunities in the Commonwealth.”

Senture Connect will lease a 26,675 square-foot building, located on 23 acres, where it will provide a variety of call center activities including inbound and outbound calls for private industry, as well as state and federal government agencies.

“Together, local, state and federal leaders continue to make Kentucky a great place to do business,” said Congressman Rogers. “The addition of more than 200 new jobs in Wayne County speaks volumes for the competitive workforce we have available in Southern and Eastern Kentucky. We are working everyday to help business leaders realize we have some of the lowest business costs in the nation. When companies like Senture Connect continue to succeed and choose to add jobs in our region, there’s no better way to spread the message.”

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved Senture Connect for state tax incentives up to $4.7 million through the Kentucky Business Investment program to encourage the investment. The performance-based incentive can be earned by Senture Connect over a 15-year period through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments.

“Senture has a history of trying to provide good jobs and economic opportunity to the people of southeastern and eastern Kentucky,” said Chris Deaton, president and CEO of Senture. “We are grateful for the support the Governor and the Congressman have provided in this effort and we are excited about the new opportunities this expansion allows.”

“Senture Connect has been a great asset to Wayne County and its citizens. They have employed hundreds of people and added millions of dollars to our local economy since first opening,” said Wayne County Judge Executive Greg Rankin. “In difficult economic times, Wayne County is fairing better than many other counties and one of the big reasons for that is Senture Connect. With numerous upcoming contracts, Senture will be a partner in the community for many years to come and everyone in Wayne County will benefit as a result of it.”

“We thank Senture Connect, Gov. Beshear and Congressman Rogers for their efforts in helping bring new jobs to our community,” said Monticello Mayor Kenneth D. Catron. “These jobs will generate a tremendous boost to our local economy.”
