The City of Henderson, NV, is pleased to announce Haas Automation will start construction on its 2.4-million-square-foot manufacturing facility this fall. The new facility will provide a second factory to meet the growing demand for the company's products.
Haas Automation, North America's largest manufacturer of CNC machine tools, will be a significant player in Henderson's economy. The company has already invested more than 100 million dollars in site acquisition and development and expects to invest more than 300 million dollars in construction over the next two years. In addition, Haas will attract other high-tech companies to the area and is expected to create hundreds of jobs in just the first two years.
"Haas is such a great fit for Henderson on so many levels. They will create quality jobs in our community at a livable wage, contributing immensely to our economic diversification,” said Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero. “And they have already proven to be incredible community partners. They've collaborated with us to create our Center of Excellence advanced manufacturing training facility to create a pipeline of skilled workers, and no matter what the ask has been, they have never hesitated to say yes. We can't wait to officially welcome them to Henderson.”
In August 2023, the City of Henderson opened the Center of Excellence in partnership with the College of Southern Nevada. This state-of-the-art facility is a testament to the City's commitment to supporting its manufacturing industry by providing a ready and skilled workforce for companies like Haas Automation.
"We congratulate Haas on this next step and are excited to get things started," said Henderson Ward II Councilman Dan Shaw. "Haas will be a catalyst for our economic development efforts in Henderson. They will bring a new level of employment and manufacturing to our community, transforming the landscape of West Henderson and setting the gold standard for development in southern Nevada."
Since initially announcing Haas Automation's expansion to a second factory in 2020, the company has progressed in securing its underground infrastructure, grading, and more across its 280-acre site. This fall will mark the next step in Haas Automation's construction of their Henderson factory toward its estimated 2026 completion.
"Everyone at Haas is excited about the start of construction. We look forward to being a part of the Henderson community and bringing jobs to the region," said Haas General Manager Robert Murray.
Haas Automation founder and CEO Gene Haas isn’t new to Henderson. His Gene Haas Foundation has been a part of Henderson and the Southern Nevada community for several years, providing millions of dollars in charitable grants to local-area non-profits.
Construction is scheduled to begin this month, with completion late in 2026.
