Alleguard, formerly Fabricated Packaging Materials Inc., announced a $900,000 expansion at its Lancaster location, adding 85 new jobs over the next few years in machine operators, clerical positions, supervisors and managers with hiring currently underway. By adding new equipment through this investment, the company is repurposing its existing space, allowing for new hires to start immediately.

With its 2023 rebrand and capability growth, Alleguard positions its Lancaster location as a leader for Midwest sales to meet the volume and diversity of demands with the Region’s rise to becoming a dominant manufacturing and technology hub. The investment builds on Alleguard’s capacity to deliver custom foam solutions, including EPS Foam components, protective packaging, construction materials and cold chain solutions.

"Lancaster is the perfect place for us to create a Midwest production center capable of meeting our company’s growing demands. The incredible talent pipeline, concentration of manufacturing and logistics companies and business-friendly environment in the Columbus Region is the type of ecosystem we were looking for when we consolidated six diverse brands to come together to create a true leader in engineering, delivery and custom foam solutions,” said Trisha Feely, VP of Human Resources at Alleguard. "We’re excited to continue working within the Columbus community.”

Headquartered in Tennessee, Alleguard has an international network of engineering, operations and sales teams offering a variety of multi-material solutions that serve appliance, automotive, construction, and pharmaceutical industries.

“We welcome Alleguard into our community, consequently strengthening Lancaster’s manufacturing industry base and bringing new opportunities to the community,” said David Scheffler, mayor of the City of Lancaster. “It’s a pleasure to continue building our ongoing partnership to include increased expertise in engineering and logistics solutions.”

The Columbus Region represents the future of manufacturing. Alleguard joins a diverse, and protracted manufacturing hub that spans industries from automotive and electronics to machinery, materials, aerospace and consumer goods. Some of the world’s largest brands manufacture products in the Columbus Region including Honda, Boeing, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Whirlpool and Abbott. The Region is home to over 1,700 manufacturing establishments with nearly 90,000 employees.

“Alleguard’s expansion in Lancaster will bring the latest technology to ensure its custom foam solutions are on the cutting edge of supporting its clients in construction insulation, cold-chain, protective packaging and more,” said J.P. Nauseef, president and CEO of JobsOhio. “With its latest investment in the Columbus Region, Alleguard is hiring immediately for 85 new positions to meet growing demand from its rapidly diversifying customer base.”

Fairfield County Commissioners are providing a training grant to Alleguard and utilizing the Fairfield County Workforce Center to support training efforts.
