Mix Talent, a biotech and life science talent acquisition and consulting firm, has announced plans to expand its headquarters in the Columbus Region, creating 50 new jobs. Hiring for senior level recruiters and key business roles is currently under way.
Mix Talent evaluated several markets to establish a centralized U.S. hub and expand its client base, while limiting tax and operational costs. The financial assistance offered by the State of Ohio and Ohio Development Services Agency was a major factor in Mix Talent’s decision to expand in the Columbus Region.
“We are thrilled to expand our workforce by 150 percent in the Columbus Region and strengthen our headquarters in this central U.S. location,” said Mix Talent President Mickey Shimp. “Our experience and location in Central Ohio have allowed us to rapidly acquire market share, and the Region and state’s business friendly community and its robust workforce will allow us to grow our client base and increase revenue.”
Founded in 2018, Mix Talent is a fast-growing talent acquisition and consulting firm that specializes in serving clients in the biotech and life science industries. By bringing together a team with years of experience in these sectors, along with new approaches, the company has been able to rapidly scale a successful business in this high-growth space.
“While much of our current revenue is generated by placing talent along the coasts, the life science innovation and investment developing in Columbus with premier research institutions like Battelle, The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and companies like Sarepta, Forge Biologics, Clarametyx and Andelyn Biosciences, further support our decision to expand Mix in Columbus,” added Shimp.
From medical breakthroughs to cutting-edge technology, the Columbus Region is home to one of the top healthcare industries in the country. With several renowned healthcare systems and companies, including OhioHealth, Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Cardinal Health, the Columbus Region employs more than 45,000 in the industry.
“Mix Talent’s rapid growth exemplifies the critical role biotech and healthcare play in Ohio’s expanding economy,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “By more than doubling its number of associates at its headquarters, Mix Talent will continue to grow the talent acquisition needs of innovative companies that are succeeding in the Columbus Region.”
