The South Carolina Department of Commerce and the South Carolina Technical College System will host free, regional workshops to address insurance and marketing strategies for small businesses.
Small business owners will gain knowledge of how to better market their products or services, including tips on developing an effective marketing plan. The insurance sessions will address best utilization of property and casualty, workers’ comp and health insurance.
The marketing workshops will kick-off the Series on January 21 at the Midlands Technical College Northeast Campus in Columbia, and on January 28 at the Horry Georgetown Technical College in Myrtle Beach. The insurance session will be held at the same campuses, on February 3 at Midlands Technical College and February 10 at Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
In a recent small business survey conducted by the South Carolina Department of Commerce, marketing strategy and insurance were two areas of great interest for the small business community.
Speakers from South Carolina-based companies that specialize in marketing and the full range of insurance services will offer expert advice in an interactive setting. Participants will gain practical knowledge they can use to better market their products and properly analyze their insurance needs and costs.
Seating for the workshops is limited. For more information on the workshops and the registration process, contact Ted Campbell at the South Carolina Department of Commerce, TCampbell@SCcommerce.com, or 803-737-2329.
