Grocery giant Kroger plans to break ground in 2025 on two new Kroger Marketplace stores in North Texas. The new locations will be in Little Elm and the Sendera Ranch community in Fort Worth.
Kroger's Marketplace stores are typically larger and offer an expanded selection of merchandise, including outdoor living products, electronics and home goods. The Marketplace stores are typically 100,000-130,000 square feet.
Kroger recently opened a Marketplace store in Melissa, Texas, in October. The company also has plans to open a new Marketplace store in Fort Worth at East Bonds Ranch Road and State Highway 287 later in 2025.
Kroger is one of the biggest grocery chains in Dallas-Fort Worth, with more than 104 stores across North Texas. Kroger's attempted merger with Albertson's — another top grocer in North Texas, mostly with their Tom Thumb brand — was blocked by the Federal Trade Commission.
