2024 Census Report reveals increase in long-term job growth, annual payroll, and new employment opportunities.

TexAmericas Center announced its continued and impressive growth in new businesses, year-over-year job expansion, and annual payroll at its industrial park, as detailed in its 2024 TexAmericas Center Annual Census of Employment and Payroll report.

TexAmericas Center, which owns and operates one of the largest mixed-use industrial parks in the United States, reported the highest combined tenant payroll and the largest number of tenants in its history.

Over the 2024 fiscal year, TexAmericas Center tenants provided almost $100 million in combined annual payroll, marking a 62 percent increase from last year.

“Thanks to the new contracts and deals our team has secured this year, we’ve seen a boost in both employment and salaries,” said Scott Norton, Executive Director and CEO of TexAmericas Center. “We are driving economic development in the region, positively impacting businesses throughout Texarkana. This year’s census report is a testament to our team’s commitment to ensuring our region is one of continued growth and opportunity.”

The nationally ranked industrial park welcomed four new businesses in 2024 and boasted an 87 percent retention rate among existing tenants. Currently, there are 47 companies located on-site, the highest number in TexAmericas Center's history. This has resulted in the creation of 91 new jobs, contributing to a total of over 1,450 jobs.

“We’re very proud of the progress we have seen this year. For over 25 years, we’ve worked tirelessly to become a pioneer of growth, supporting the dedicated men and women working in our region,” said Norton. “In the last six years alone, we’ve supported businesses so they could collectively increase employment numbers by 97 percent, and we’re committed to building on that momentum.”
TexAmericas Center plans to continue to attract domestic companies while placing a strong focus on foreign investments and international business looking to expand in the U.S.
The organization’s commitment extends beyond business partnerships. The team is dedicated to supporting families relocating to Texas by assisting in housing searches, navigating school districts, finding ESL classes, and more.
