UT: HydroBlok to Move Manufacturing From Asia to Utah, Creating 200 Jobs

Feb 25, 2025

HydroBlok has announced it is moving manufacturing from Asia to Utah. Supported by the Economic Development Corporation of Utah (EDCUtah), World Trade Center Utah and Utah’s robust manufacturing community, along with strategic partners like Nilson Homes, L.K.L. & Associates, and Little Giant Ladder Systems®—the move demonstrates HydroBlok’s commitment to “Built Here,” strengthening local innovation, creating jobs, and fueling economic growth across the state.

HydroBlok™ is proud to bring its manufacturing operations home to Utah, reversing the construction industry’s offshoring trend resulting in at least $13 Billion of imported material in 2023 alone. More than just building a new plant, this move is a bold investment in local innovation, Utah’s workforce, and the future of American manufacturing. By building products in the heart of Utah, HydroBlok™ is empowering the region’s skilled labor force and ensuring that the company’s success directly benefits the communities where it operates.

“This is more than just onshoring — it’s a commitment to Utah’s future,” said Colin House, CEO of HydroBlok™. “By investing in Utah-based manufacturing, we strengthen our local economy, create new jobs, and take part in Governor Cox’s vision for a thriving, innovative state leading the nation.”

“We’re excited to welcome Hydroblock’s expansion in Tooele County and their vision for innovation in construction,” said Scott Cuthbertson, president of EDCUtah “Hydroblock™ is driving meaningful change in the building products sector and their commitment to growing in rural Utah advances our state’s construction supply chain and brings 200 high-quality jobs to the region.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Hydroblok™ to Tooele County,” said Tooele County Council Chairman Jared Hamner. “Hydroblok’s investment will bring quality career jobs and further Strengthen our local economy while helping builders meet housing demands.”

“We are excited to welcome HydroBlok to the Utah manufacturing community, where they are leading change as an innovative manufacturer, revolutionizing building materials and the way the trades build,” said Ryan Moss, CEO of Little Giant Ladder Systems. “HydroBlok’s commitment to innovation and quality creates valuable opportunities for skilled workers and drives growth in Utah’s manufacturing industry.”
