Moosejaw, a leading online and brick and mortar retailer specializing in outdoor gear and apparel, opened a new retail store in Salt Lake City near the trendy 9th and 9th neighborhood. It will be the retailer’s first location in Utah. A portion of Moosejaw brand sales from opening weekend will benefit Trails Foundation of Northern Utah (TFNU), which promotes, preserves and protects public pathways and trails throughout Northern Utah.
The 8,200 sq. foot store will offer gear, apparel and footwear for outdoor activities ranging from camping and climbing to skiing and biking, featuring leading brands like Arc’teryx, Black Diamond, Fjallraven, Mountain Hardwear, Marmot, Patagonia and The North Face. Moosejaw Gear Wizards will provide guidance for choosing the correct apparel and gear, advice on planning outdoor adventures, and full technical service for bikes, snowsports and more.
“The Salt Lake area is a uniquely active community with amazing access to the outdoors,” said Moosejaw CEO Eoin Comerford. “We are excited to be part of this community of enthusiasts that share our passion. Our Grand Opening Fair will be full of outdoor fun and activities and we look forward to a busy weekend.”
“Salt Lakers have an unrelenting passion for the outdoors and the new Moosejaw location could not be more perfectly situated for our community,” said Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall. “This addition to our outdoor retail sector continues building upon a legacy of equipping outdoor enthusiasts.”
