Radisson Hotel Group has announced plans for a Radisson Blu property in the city of Sandy, Utah, close to Salt Lake City.
The 235-room Radisson Blu Sandy – Salt Lake City will be housed within mixed use development The Summit at the Cairns, and will feature a rooftop grillhouse and cocktail bar, 2,000 sqm of meeting space, a fitness centre, spa facilities, and indoor and outdoor pools overlooking the Wasatch Mountains.
Commenting on the news Phil Hugh, chief development officer, Americas, Radisson Hotel Group, said:
“I am proud to be announcing the signing of this phenomenal hotel that will give guests a one-of-a-kind experience in the beautiful state of Utah.
“It has been incredible working alongside Raddon Development as they bring this exceptional development project to life, while creating a true destination for our guests with a variety of culinary options, shopping and activities for outdoor enthusiasts in this urban gem.
“The signing of this hotel displays our rapid growth of Radisson Blu in the recent months as we will be nearly doubling the brand’s portfolio in the Americas with four key hotel openings in Q4 of this year.”
Other Radisson Blu properties set to open in the US before the end of the year include the Radisson Blu Anaheim close to the Disneyland Resort in California, and the Radisson Blu Fargo in North Dakota.
The group also added its first property under its Radisson Blu brand in Canada earlier this year, with the former Radisson Admiral Toronto Harbourfront undergoing “extensive renovation” and now known as the Radisson Blu Toronto Downtown.
The Radisson Blu offering has traditionally been focused on the EMEA region, but has gradually been spreading its wings in the Americas, with the recent debut of the brand in the Dominican Republic.
