Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam announced that Dynovis, Inc., a Virginia-based manufacturer providing inspired solutions and product expertise to the aerospace and defense industries, will invest $592,000 to establish a new manufacturing operation in Rockbridge County. The company will renovate a formerly vacant, 75,000-square-foot facility and invest in new equipment to significantly increase its production capabilities. The project will create 44 new jobs.
“Advanced manufacturing in the Commonwealth is soaring thanks to industry-leading companies like Dynovis, Inc., whose commitment to developing innovative technology helps ensure that Virginia remains at the forefront of this critical sector of our economy,” said Governor Northam. “Dynovis’ continued growth not only supports Virginia’s aerospace and defense industries, it also provides quality jobs for citizens in the Shenandoah Valley. We look forward to building on our strong partnership with Dynovis and are confident that the company’s success will create positive ripple effects across the region.”
Dynovis, Inc. solves real problems for its aerospace and defense industry partners with innovative technology, expert product development, and quality manufacturing. The rapidly expanding manufacturer works with companies and government agencies to develop and field deployable equipment, such as rapid deployment shelters and aerostats, that lightens the load, extends the range, and secures the mission.
“Dynovis, Inc. is a prime example of the success a homegrown manufacturer can achieve in the Commonwealth, and we look forward to what the future holds for the company,” said Secretary of Commerce and Trade Brian Ball. “Just six years after its founding, Dynovis is expanding into a new, larger facility, where it will continue to benefit from Rockbridge County’s pro-business environment and quality workforce. We thank Dynovis for its important contribution to the Shenandoah Valley’s economic vitality.”
“We are excited to partner with the Commonwealth to build our engineering and manufacturing operations in Rockbridge County,” said Brad Repp, CEO of Dynovis, Inc. “We value the skill and inventive spirit of the local workforce and what that means for our customers, and we look forward to becoming an even bigger part of the local community.”
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Rockbridge County to secure the project for Virginia and will support Dynovis’ job creation through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP). VJIP provides consultative services and funding to companies creating new jobs or experiencing technological change in order to support employee training activities. As a business incentive supporting economic development, VJIP reduces the human resource costs of new and expanding companies. VJIP is state-funded, demonstrating Virginia’s commitment to enhancing job opportunities for citizens.
“Rockbridge County is excited to be working with the Dynovis, Inc. team once again,” said Sam Crickenberger, Director of the Rockbridge County Office of Community Development. “The company has a proven track record in our community, and we look forward to continuing this mutually beneficial relationship and supporting Dynovis on its path to success.”
“I am excited that Dynovis, Inc. is bringing new tech manufacturing jobs to Rockbridge County,” said Senator R. Creigh Deeds. “This is exactly the sort of economic development that will allow us to stay competitive in the 21st century. Equally exciting is that this project will take advantage of existing expertise and infrastructure. I thank the Governor and VEDP for supporting this project, and I congratulate Rockbridge County.”
“I am happy and proud that Dynovis, Inc. will invest in our community and bring 44 jobs that will help our district and citizens greatly,” said Delegate Ronnie Campbell. “As former Chairman of the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors, I worked hard to bring economic development to Rockbridge, and I plan to do the same as Delegate of the 24th District. I will continue to support efforts to bring economic prosperity to the people of our district.”
