Press Glass, a European glass operator announced it will be investing $155 million into its Henry County, Va., location, creating more than 300 new jobs. This is the largest capital investment ever made in Henry County.

“When we have announcements like we had today with 335 jobs that are gonna be hired, people will say I want to go take those jobs, and when we have abundant opportunities, they attract a great workforce,” said Governor Glenn Youngkin. "We went from near the bottom of job growth to number four in the nation for job growth, which is why an announcement like we had today adds to this acceleration."

Press Glass is the largest independent flat glass operator in Europe. Flat glass is most commonly used in windows and doors. Press Glass President Maciej Migalski says after this investment, the Henry County plant will become one of the largest glass manufacturers in the United States.

Henry County Administrator, Dale Wagoner, says this expansion creates new opportunities for residents in the county, as well as draws people to the area for work. “It continues to create our economic opportunities for our residents it allows them to have good paying jobs to support their families and give back to our communities in a positive way,” said Wagoner.

Wagoner adds that the local community colleges are also anticipating this development, saying they are working to provide people with the skills necessary to take on these jobs.

With this development comes a physical expansion of the plant, the Migalski says they’ll be adding about 360,000 square feet hoping to have it completed by the end of 2025. The local organization “The Harvest Foundation” as well as the Henry County Board of Supervisors also gave donations totaling $3 million to help with the development of this facility.
